Pastor, professor, and author R. Kent Hughes said, "The true test of a man's spirituality is not his ability to speak, as we are apt to think, but rather his ability to bridle his tongue."   As we continue our study in the book of James, we're cautioned that the sins of the tongue are the hardest to avoid.  We simply haven't mastered controlling our mouth!  A relatively tiny rudder steers the ship, a bit in the mouth of the horse controls its direction; but our tongue often resembles a wildfire - raging out of control!  "A World of Evil" is the message.  -- If you missed the livestream on Facebook, you can watch his message by clicking on the "Watch Recent Sermons" tab in the upper right corner of this page, and then selecting the message title. PDF study notes listing the Scriptures used and more can be found by clicking on the paper-page icon just to the right of the sermon title!

Abbreviated Statement of Faith:

We believe that the 66 books of the Bible alone are the divinely inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God.

We believe in the Trinity.  There is only one true God who has always eternally existed as three distinct persons - God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

We believe in Jesus' virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, vicarious death, resurrection, and His visible, bodily return.

We believe that when Adam sinned it affected the entire human race so that all enter the world with a fallen, sinful nature.

We believe that all have sinned, that salvation is made possible by God's grace, and that the only way anyone can receive salvation by repenting and placing his or her faith in Christ.

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to minister and live a godly life. *(A more complete statement is available upon request.)

 2 Chronicles 7:6 (NIV)
The priests took their positions, as did the Levites with the Lord's musical instruments, which King David had made for praising the LORD and which were used when he gave thanks, saying, "His love endures forever." Opposite the Levites, the priests blew their trumpets, and all the Israelites were standing.
